A local court has handed down a life sentence to a man convicted of murdering his father in a property dispute, according to a government lawyer.

The ruling was made by District Judge Pramod Kumar Srivastava, who also fined the convict Rs 25,000. Failure to pay will incur additional penalties.

The crime, reported on November 2, 2021, saw Pawan Kumar Yadav accusing his brother, Ram Suresh, of fatally assaulting their father in a long-standing family feud over property division, as detailed by District Government Advocate Basant Kumar Shukla.
