Lebanon Shuts Eastern Border Crossings After Israeli Strike
Lebanon has closed its two eastern border crossings with Syria following an Israeli airstrike near the Al-Qaa crossing. Transport Minister Ali Hamieh confirmed the attack rendered the crossings unusable. With the main Masnaa crossing also previously damaged, Lebanon's northern route remains the only open passage into Syria.

Lebanon has shuttered its two eastern border crossings with Syria, Transport Minister Ali Hamieh announced on Friday. The closures follow a recent Israeli airstrike that targeted the Syrian side of the Al-Qaa border.
The strike, occurring in the early hours of Friday, was reportedly within Syrian territory and rendered the crossings ineffective for transit, Hamieh stated. The incident highlights ongoing hostilities in the region, impacting crucial border operations.
Earlier in the month, another strike disabled Lebanon's main border crossing at Masnaa, underscoring the fragile state of Lebanon-Syria border routes. Currently, Lebanon's northern passage stands as the sole entry point into Syria.
