The Maharashtra government has granted permission for the prosecution of Dr. Ajay Taware, Dr. Shreehari Halnor, and Atul Ghatkamble, staff members of Sassoon Hospital, in the high-profile Porsche car crash case. The decision was disclosed to a local court.
The incident, which occurred in May, involved a Porsche allegedly driven by a 17-year-old, resulting in the deaths of two IT professionals in Pune. The accused are suspected of attempting to alter the minor's blood samples to evade alcohol testing.
Advocate Shishir Hiray, the special public prosecutor, confirmed the receipt of governmental approval, emphasizing the necessity for such sanctions when prosecuting government personnel. The doctors, the juvenile's parents, and two middlemen remain in custody.
