Mother-Son Duo Under Investigation for Dog Hanging in Pune

A disturbing case has emerged from Pune, Maharashtra, where a mother-son duo is believed to have killed their pet dog by hanging it from a tree. The local police confirmed this shocking incident, which took place in the Pirangut area of Mulshi tehsil.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray brought attention to the incident via social media. Meanwhile, Padmini Stump, a noted animal activist and founder of the Mission Possible Foundation, filed a formal complaint against Prabhavati Jagtap and her son Omkar Jagtap with the Pune rural police.
The police have charged the accused under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Reports suggest the family mistakenly believed their pet Labrador had rabies and acted out of this presumption, leading to the dog's tragic end.
