Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of jeopardizing the livelihoods of numerous Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) contractual employees just ahead of Diwali. Kejriwal has assured the affected employees that the AAP is committed to ensuring their reinstatement.
This decision by the DCW followed an order from the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department, which received approval from the lieutenant governor. Allegations of irregular recruitment practices led to the termination of 223 contractual positions, impacting 52 staff members when the notice went into effect.
Former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia criticized the BJP's actions, calling them a contradiction to their manifesto promises of job creation. He labeled their employment promises as misleading, and emphasized AAP's determination to stand by the dismissed workers. The BJP has yet to publicly address these accusations.
