The Jharkhand High Court has officially closed its investigations into the murder case of Dhanbad Judge Uttam Anand. The announcement follows a comprehensive inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which resulted in the conviction of both Rahul Verma and Laxman Verma.
On Monday, the court heard that the CBI filed the charge sheet against the accused, leading to their life imprisonment sentences, thereby quashing any suspicions of a broader conspiracy involved in the case. The CBI categorically stated that every angle had been fully explored with no findings of a deeper plot.
Judge Anand was fatally injured in July 2021 when an auto-rickshaw, with a driver and passenger aboard, struck him. Despite initial delays in lodging the FIR, subsequent investigations by CCTV footage and local police efforts transitioned to the CBI, culminating in the just verdict.
