In a significant move aimed at fostering a culture of continuous learning and dynamic governance, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh addressed officers of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions during the inaugural session of the 'Samuhik Charcha' under Mission Karmayogi. The event, part of the Karmayogi Saptah and National Learning Week, focused on engaging civil servants in collective discussions on critical governance themes.

Dr. Singh, who holds multiple portfolios including Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, highlighted that Mission Karmayogi marks a "paradigm shift" from the conventional "rule-bound" approach to a more "role-based" and responsibility-driven model for civil servants. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for modern governance, which led to the establishment of this mission, and praised the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) for spearheading these initiatives.

The Minister stressed that Mission Karmayogi fosters a new governance culture that is responsive, agile, and aligned with contemporary India's needs. He underscored that civil servants will play a pivotal role in executing a wide range of tasks across government departments, reinforcing the "One Government" approach to achieve the vision of "Viksit Bharat" by 2047.

Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and capacity building, especially as bureaucrats are expected to lead efforts toward a developed India. The ‘Samuhik Charcha,’ a structured discussion involving officers from across the Ministry, is designed to deepen understanding of key themes, facilitate idea exchange, and encourage cross-departmental collaboration. The topics for discussion are based on themes from webinars held during the National Learning Week, which is an integral part of Mission Karmayogi’s capacity-building efforts.

He further noted that this collaborative discussion format creates a sustainable framework and ecosystem, where officers are encouraged to continuously engage in learning processes that cut across sectors and industries.

Dr. Singh concluded by expressing optimism that Mission Karmayogi would not only transform the way governance is executed but also empower civil servants to be better equipped for the challenges and responsibilities of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
