In a keynote address at the NDTV World Summit 2024, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi welcomed dignitaries and global leaders, emphasizing the importance of discussions on critical issues facing the world today. Reflecting on recent global challenges—such as the COVID-19 pandemic, economic instability, climate change, and geopolitical tensions—he stated that "India has become a ray of hope in this era of global turmoil."

The Prime Minister noted that while India faces challenges, there is an undeniable sense of positivity and progress within the country. He highlighted significant government achievements during the past 125 days, including:

Approval for 3 crore new pucca houses for the poor.Initiation of infrastructure projects worth Rs 9 lakh crore.Launch of 15 new Vande Bharat Trains and foundation stones laid for 8 new airports.A Rs 2 lakh crore package aimed at empowering the youth.Direct financial assistance of Rs 21,000 crore to farmers and implementation of a free treatment scheme for senior citizens.

Modi emphasized India's rapid advancements across all sectors, asserting that the nation is "working with unprecedented speed." He mentioned that SENSEX and NIFTY indices have seen growth of 5-7%, and the country's foreign exchange reserves have reached USD 700 billion.

Highlighting India’s role in global discussions, he mentioned recent high-profile events hosted in India, such as the International SMU, Global Fintech Festival, and the International Conference for Renewable Energy. He remarked, "These events are not merely a list but a representation of hope associated with India, shaping the world’s future."

In discussing economic prospects, Modi pointed out that many rating agencies have raised India's growth forecasts, citing endorsements from influential experts who advocate for significant investment in India's markets. He stressed that India is both a developing nation and an emerging power that understands poverty and is dedicated to progress.

The Prime Minister addressed the need for continued progress, noting that while 25 crore people have exited poverty in the last decade, efforts must persist. He underscored the government's commitment to education and skill development, revealing that India has established over 350 medical colleges and more than 15 AIIMS, and has initiated 1.5 lakh startups.

Emphasizing a forward-looking approach, Modi stated that the nation's success is not measured by past achievements but by its vision for the future. He articulated a goal for Viksit Bharat by 2047, which is rooted in the aspirations of 140 crore Indians. The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of artificial intelligence (AI), explaining that it represents both technological and aspirational dimensions for India, with the India AI Mission set to drive development across sectors like healthcare and education.

Modi highlighted significant advancements in India's connectivity, citing the success of the UDAN scheme, which has made air travel accessible for millions, especially in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. He noted that the number of airports has increased significantly from around 70 in 2014 to over 150 today.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed India's commitment to empowering youth as a driving force for global growth, noting improvements in research quality and the rise of Indian universities in global rankings. He indicated that India is emerging as a global hub for research and development, with 2,500 international companies setting up R&D centers in the country.

Reinforcing India's role on the global stage, Modi mentioned the country's commitment to humanitarian efforts during the pandemic, supplying medicines and vaccines worldwide. He emphasized that India's relationships are based on trust and reliability, contributing positively to global stability and progress.

He concluded his address by stressing that the 21st century is a pivotal time for humanity, calling for stability, sustainability, and solutions to global challenges. Modi underscored India's proactive measures in tackling climate change and promoting green initiatives, including the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
