Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has condemned the police action against members of Hindu organizations protesting the desecration of a temple idol in Secunderabad as he accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of harboring an 'anti-Hindu attitude'.
According to Reddy, peaceful demonstrators were met with police brutality unprecedented in recent Hyderabad history. He asserted this behavior was not seen even during the Telangana statehood movement, lambasting the state's response as being motivated by a desire to cater to non-Hindu communities.
Protesters' aggression, including vandalism and stone-pelting, led police to resort to lathicharge to restore order, which resulted in injuries to numerous protesters and police. A political clash ensued with accusations of the Congress party's perceived bias against Hindu interests, amid the backdrop of ongoing tensions over temple desecration events.
