Drone Warfare: Ukraine Targets Key Russian Sites
Ukraine launched drone attacks deep into Russian territory, targeting a military explosives manufacturer and other locations. Russian officials reported downing 110 Ukrainian drones, with incidents occurring in the Moscow, Kursk, and Lipetsk regions. Kyiv aims to disrupt Russian war efforts, while both sides have suffered from escalated air conflicts.
Over the weekend, Ukraine carried out drone attacks targeting Moscow and a key military explosives manufacturer within Russian borders, according to reports from Russian officials and Telegram channels on Sunday.
Russia's defense ministry revealed that its air defense units intercepted 110 Ukrainian drones across Russian territories, including the Moscow region, Kursk, and Lipetsk. Of particular note was an attack on the Ya. M. Sverdlov State Owned Enterprise in Dzerzhinsk city, renowned for producing explosives utilized by Russian forces, situated 400 kilometers east of Moscow.
While local reports mentioned explosions and smoke, there was no official Ukrainian comment on these drone offensives. Kyiv frequently asserts that such operations aim at degrading crucial elements of Russia's military infrastructure as a counter-response to Moscow's ongoing aerial assaults on Ukraine.
