Nagaland Police have successfully dismantled an inter-state gang, notorious for drugging and snatching vehicles, with the arrest of eight individuals spread over four states, as confirmed by an official release on Saturday.

The arrests spanned across Assam, Manipur, West Bengal, and Nagaland, according to the statement from the Commissioner of Police in Dimapur. The operation led to the recovery of two stolen vehicles. The inquiry into a missing person report initially filed at East Police Station unveiled the organized network's criminal activities.

The gang's method involved hiring commercial vehicles, befriending drivers, drugging them, and then stealing the vehicles. Police identified the mastermind as Shymalendu Roy from West Bengal. Through digital evidence and technical surveillance, two gang members were apprehended in Manipur, four in Assam, and two in Dimapur.
