A devastating Naxalite attack in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district left two Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel dead and two policemen injured on Saturday. The incident unfolded around midday within the Kodliyar forest of the Abujhmaad region, where security forces were engaged in an anti-Naxal operation.
The joint operation included personnel from the ITBP, Border Security Force (BSF), and the state police's District Reserve Guard, Bastar Fighters, and District Force. The operation was initiated from Orchha, Irakbhatti, and Mohandi areas. Tragically, the explosive device detonated as the patrolling teams were retreating after the operation, resulting in four casualties.
Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj confirmed the deaths of ITBP members Amar Pawar and K Rajesh. The injured have been airlifted to Raipur for treatment, and security forces continue to face significant threats from Naxalites in the Bastar division.
