In a significant address to neighboring nations, India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the collective responsibility in maintaining maritime security, cautioning against inviting external forces. His remarks came during the inauguration of a Very Low Frequency (VLF) Naval Station in Vikarabad, Telangana, intended to advance regional peace efforts.
Highlighting the strategic role of the Indian Navy in the Indian Ocean Region, Singh underlined the importance of collaboration with friendly nations to ensure holistic security. He pointed out the Navy's capacity as a primary peace guarantor and urged continuous strengthening of its capabilities amid rising global interest in the region.
The VLF station, described as a critical asset, will enhance military communications across the Indo-Pacific. It underscores the project's significance in boosting national defense, having undergone environmental clearance. The facility, once operational, will become a pillar of India's naval strategy, supporting command networks and ensuring secure long-distance communication.
