Punjab Police made significant headway in dismantling a narcotic network in Amritsar with the arrest of a jail warden and two accomplices. The operation led to the seizure of 4.50 kilograms of heroin and Rs 4.32 lakh in cash, according to DGP Gaurav Yadav.

The warden, Gurmej Singh, was allegedly facilitating drug supplies within the Central Jail, Amritsar. Accomplices Akashdeep Singh and Satwinderpal Singh, connected directly to Pakistan-based smugglers, were utilizing drones to ferry drugs across the border.

Further arrests followed after additional intel revealed the conspiracy extended to smugglers inside the jail. Authorities continue to trace the network's backward and forward linkages, said Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
