The Punjab Police launched a significant operation on Wednesday, aiming to preempt street crimes throughout the state. Dubbed 'CASO for Safe Neighborhood,' the initiative was implemented between 11 am and 3 pm under the supervision of Director General Gaurav Yadav.

In Mohali's Balongi, Yadav engaged with local residents and shopkeepers to discuss the operation's objectives, which sought to intimidate anti-social elements and provide citizens with a greater sense of security.

The strategy incorporates in-depth crime data analysis to pinpoint patterns and crime hotspots, bolstered by increasing police presence and enhanced CCTV monitoring. With over 11,000 officers involved, special DGP Arpit Shukla reported more than 140 FIRs registered across the state.
