Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the government's commitment to nutritional security by continuing the supply of fortified rice under welfare schemes. Fortified Rice Kernels (FRK), enriched with essential micro-nutrients like iron, folic acid, and Vitamin B12, will be integrated with regular rice according to FSSAI standards.
Highlighting the health benefits, Modi discussed how providing essential nutrients through fortified rice can improve public health, particularly among the economically disadvantaged. This initiative demonstrates the government's proactive approach to tackling malnutrition.
In another development, the Union cabinet approved a major infrastructure project, involving the construction of 2,280 kilometers of roads in the border areas of Rajasthan and Punjab. With an investment of Rs 4,406 crore, this project aims to enhance connectivity and create employment opportunities in these regions, underscoring the government's dedication to regional development.
