A conflict erupted between BJP MLA Yogesh Verma and lawyer Awadhesh Singh at a cooperative bank election in Lakhimpur Kheri, as confirmed by police on Wednesday.
The altercation, tied to claims of election irregularities, evolved into physical confrontations, with Awadhesh Singh allegedly assaulting the MLA. This incident was caught on video and circulated online.
Authorities have since managed to calm both parties involved, asserting that the situation is now under control, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Pawan Gautam.
