Security Measures Heightened for Chinese Nationals Amidst SCO Summit in Pakistan

Pakistani authorities are implementing heightened security measures, restricting the movements of Chinese nationals during next week's Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Islamabad. The decision is a response to escalating threats from militant groups, including the recent bombing that claimed the lives of two Chinese engineers.

The attack, which has been linked to the separatist militant group Baloch Liberation Army, occurred near Karachi's international airport. In light of this, an internal security alert has been issued, instructing Chinese nationals to limit travel, including intra-city and inter-city movement, from October 14 to 17.

The Chinese embassy and Pakistan's interior ministry have yet to comment on the situation, which underscores ongoing tensions as militant groups continue to target Chinese interests in the region, prompting calls from Beijing for stronger protective measures.
