Tragedy in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa: Community Leader Killed, Soldier Abducted

A Shia community leader was tragically killed in a shooting by unidentified assailants in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday, authorities reported.
The victim, Hamid Askari from the Orakzai tribal district, was gunned down by two unknown attackers on Old Jail Road in Kohat district. Police revealed the attack left the gunmen at large as they managed to flee after the fatal shooting. The body of the deceased was transported to a local hospital, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated.
In a separate incident occurring on the same day, a Frontier Corps soldier visiting his family in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Tank district was reportedly kidnapped. Channels affiliated with the Pakistani Taliban have taken credit for this abduction, adding to the region's ongoing tensions.
