An iron trader from Meerut, Akshat Jain, has embarked on a foot march to Lucknow, protesting what he describes as harassment by local administration, specifically at a GST office in Ghaziabad. The incident follows a dramatic protest where Jain stripped down to his underwear inside the office.

Before departing with family and supporters, Jain held a ritual at a local Jain temple and announced plans to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking intervention to punish the GST officer responsible and to withdraw pending charges against him. He stated his intention to shut down his business should the harassment continue.

Sudip Jain, National Secretary of Vishva Shraman Sanskriti Shrisangh, condemned the actions of the GST officials. Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav also commented on the incident, criticizing the BJP's impact on traders. Despite support, Jain faces legal charges from the GST office.
