The bullet-ridden body of a missing Territorial Army soldier, Hilal Ahmad Bhat, was discovered in Sanglan forest, Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday, according to officials.
Bhat had been reported missing on Tuesday from Shah, prompting security forces to initiate a comprehensive search operation in the area.
The body has been transported to a hospital for official medical formalities. The search operation, which involved the Indian Army and police, was initiated in response to intelligence inputs and extended throughout the night.
