An alarming acid attack in West Delhi's Vikaspuri has left three refugees, including a Syrian national and an 11-month-old child, injured. The assault transpired during a heated argument with local residents, as confirmed by the police on Wednesday.

The young child, who suffered burns, was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital and has since been discharged, officials reported. Authorities have arrested local resident Rakesh Kumar in connection with the incident, having lodged an FIR.

The confrontation occurred near the UNHRC office on September 30, when Kumar allegedly doused the refugees with a chemical substance. Initial investigation suggests it could be phenyl, pending further analysis. Loud protests by refugees seeking work and shelter often disturb the locals, culminating in this recent conflict.
