Tensions between Hezbollah and Israel have intensified as Israeli forces commenced ground operations in the southwest of Lebanon. Naim Qassem, the deputy leader of Hezbollah, asserted the group's resilience despite ongoing confrontations, framing the conflict as a standoff over who will concede first.
The situation has been further complicated by regional dynamics initiated a year ago by Hamas's assault on southern Israel. These tensions have escalated into a series of Israeli military actions across Lebanon and retaliatory strikes from Iran, which has issued warnings against any Israeli aggression.
In response, Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, reiterated Tehran's stance of retaliatory action if faced with Israeli attacks. As diplomatic maneuvers unfold, Gulf Arab states have asserted their neutral position. Meanwhile, the European Union highlights the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Lebanon, urging for a ceasefire.
