Jens Stoltenberg, former Secretary General of NATO, has been announced as the new chair of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), succeeding German diplomat Christoph Heusgen. The MSC released a statement confirming Stoltenberg's appointment on Tuesday.
Stoltenberg is slated to take up his new responsibilities in February 2025, following the conclusion of the conference's 61st edition, which is scheduled to be held in southern Germany from February 14 to 16.
The MSC is a pivotal gathering for international security discussions, and Stoltenberg's leadership is highly anticipated in continuing the conference's legacy of addressing global security challenges.
