India and Nepal are taking significant measures to combat tiger trafficking networks smuggling animal parts to China. On Thursday, officials announced that the two nations will collaborate with international law enforcement through Interpol channels.
A two-day Regional Investigative and Analytical Case Meeting (RIACM) organised by the CBI and Interpol at a local venue underscored the critical issue of tiger trafficking, a transnational threat endangering big cats across the region. The trafficking route, spanning from India through Nepal to China, remains a vital concern.
Authorities plan to utilise Interpol's global resources to share information and dismantle these illicit networks, aimed at curbing the illegal wildlife trade. This collaboration seeks to enhance coordination and intelligence-led enforcement actions, as participants work to map out and target existing and new criminal entities.
