One person was killed and two others were injured following a compressor explosion at an automobile service centre in Satara city, western Maharashtra, on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The incident occurred in the Guruwar Peth area of the city, an official stated.
The deceased has been identified as Mujammil Palkar, who operated a chicken shop adjacent to the service centre. Harun Bagwan and Umar Bagwan were injured in the explosion.
The blast was of such magnitude that it shattered the window panes of nearby homes and shops, police mentioned, adding that an investigation is ongoing.
