Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) has secured a significant milestone by obtaining a 400 MW wind-solar hybrid project from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL). The award, made through a competitive reverse auction, will substantially bolster the state's renewable energy capacity.
The Letter of Award (LoA) includes an initial 200 MW contracted capacity with an option to expand by an additional 200 MW, marking it as the largest project for TPREL in Maharashtra to date. This development is key to reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 895 million kilograms of CO2 annually.
Set for completion within 24 months of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signing, the project will provide sustainable energy to MSEDCL, underscoring TPREL's growing footprint in renewable energy with a total capacity of 10.5 GW, of which 4.8 GW is operational.
