Waheed Para, the youth president of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has leveled serious allegations against the recently retired Director General of Police (DGP), R R Swain. Para accused Swain, a 1991-batch IPS officer, of 'criminalising thoughts and weaponising policing,' which he claims has ruined lives and shattered homes.
Para, who spent nearly two years in jail on terror-related charges, claimed he endured torture under Swain's orders. He took to social media platform X to share his ordeal, describing the 'darkness of the cells and freezing temperatures' he faced, similar to thousands of others.
In his post, Para criticized Swain for prioritizing personal advancement over public welfare, stating that his tactics served Pakistan's interests more than India's. Para ended his post with a plea, hoping Swain's children never experience the same suffering.
