Israel Expands Conflict with Strikes on Yemen Following Nasrallah's Death
Israel bombed Houthi targets in Yemen, escalating its conflict with Iran's allies after Hezbollah leader Nasrallah was killed. The strikes followed Houthi missile attacks on Israel. Over four people were killed in Yemen and numerous casualties reported. The U.S. and Iran showed growing concern, urging diplomatic resolutions.
Israel expanded its regional conflict on Sunday by bombing Houthi targets in Yemen in response to recent missile attacks. This escalation comes just two days after Israeli forces killed Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, intensifying the long-standing conflict in Lebanon. The strikes on Hodeidah resulted in at least four deaths and 29 injuries according to the Houthi-run health ministry, amid growing international concern.
The escalation has also seen increased military activity in Lebanon. Israeli airstrikes have killed numerous Hezbollah leaders and displaced hundreds of thousands of people. Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi emphasized the need to continue the assault on Hezbollah, citing their significant losses over the past two weeks.
Amid these developments, the U.S. and Iran have shown increasing unease. The U.S., which has authorized military reinforcement in the region, called for diplomatic solutions. Meanwhile, Iran mourned the loss of its senior Revolutionary Guards member alongside Nasrallah. The U.N. World Food Programme has initiated an emergency operation to support those affected by the conflict.
