Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reiterated on Thursday that he will not resign, firmly denying any wrongdoing in the allotment of 14 sites to his wife by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). Calling the allegations a 'BJP conspiracy,' Siddaramaiah vowed to wage a legal battle.
On Wednesday, a special court ordered a probe by the Lokayukta police in Mysuru against the Chief Minister in the MUDA site allotment case, paving the way for an FIR. Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress President D K Shivakumar also ruled out Siddaramaiah's resignation.
Opposition BJP staged a protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue at Vidhana Soudha demanding Siddaramaiah's resignation. However, Siddaramaiah equated the charges to past political incidents, asserting that he has done no wrong and there is no need for him to resign.
