Teacher Arrested for Kidnapping and Assaulting 11-Year-Old Girl

An 11-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by her teacher in Mahmudabad, police reported on Wednesday. The accused, Sanjay Gupta, was identified and apprehended by police.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when the girl did not return home after school. Her father initiated a search, leading locals to break into the teacher's house and rescue her. The locals also thrashed Gupta before the police arrived.
Circle Officer Mahmudabad Dinesh Shukla stated, ''The police arrived at the scene and arrested Sanjay Gupta. He was taken to a hospital and later referred to the district hospital due to his critical condition.'' Gupta faces charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and other relevant laws, with further investigations ongoing.
