Two minor boys drowned in a pond in Maharashtra's Nashik city while attempting to catch crabs, according to local police on Monday.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in Sanjeevanagar along the Ambad-Satpur link road. The boys, residents of Viratnagar, were aged 8 and 11.
They were accompanied by a friend when they slipped into the water, unaware of its depth. The surviving friend quickly alerted their parents, who, along with neighbours and the police, initiated a rescue operation. Unfortunately, the boys could not be saved, and their bodies were recovered from the pond later that evening. The Ambad police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating the matter further.
