Unidentified individuals allegedly broke into Walmiki School in Maharashtra's Thane district during the Ganpati festival, stealing goods valued at Rs 61,000, police reported on Monday.
The school was closed from September 5 to 14 for the festival. During this period, fans, speaker boxes, ladders, and computers were stolen from the premises, according to an official from the Khadakpada police station.
The theft was discovered when the school reopened and the missing items were noted. An FIR was filed on Saturday under sections 305(a) and 331(2)(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and an investigation is currently underway.
