Hezbollah-Israel Conflict Escalates: Unrest Deepens on Both Sides
Tensions between Hezbollah and Israel have intensified, leading to a fierce exchange of fire. The conflict has seen significant casualties and widespread destruction, particularly in Gaza and Beirut. Both sides are gearing up for extended warfare, impacting civilians and prompting international calls for resolution.
The escalating conflict between Hezbollah and Israel saw another severe exchange of fire on Sunday. The Lebanese militant group launched rockets deep into Northern Israel following intense bombardment that has marked almost a year of conflict.
Hezbollah deputy chief Naim Qassem declared an 'open-ended battle of reckoning' during a funeral for a fallen commander. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant stated that operations would continue until it was safe for evacuated people to return home, suggesting an open-ended conflict.
Israeli Chief of the General Staff Herzi Halevi assured that the military is well-prepared for the next stages. The conflict was exacerbated by Israel's recent heavy bombardment of Lebanon, which followed suspected Israeli attacks on Hezbollah's communication devices. Air raid sirens in Israel and civilian lockdowns in protected areas underscore the escalating violence.
