The World Health Organisation announced on Thursday that it had evacuated almost 100 people, including dozens of children, from Gaza to the United Arab Emirates. The organisation underscored the critical necessity for regular medical transfers from the enclave.

According to Richard Peeperkorn, WHO Representative for the occupied Palestinian territory, this recent evacuation, which occurred on Wednesday, is the largest since October 2023.

"Gaza needs medical corridors. We need a better organised and sustained system," Peeperkorn stated, emphasizing that over 10,000 Gazans are awaiting medical transfer.
