Iran Arrests 12 Over Alleged Collaboration with Israel Amid Rising Middle East Tensions
The Revolutionary Guards of Iran announced the arrest of 12 individuals accused of collaborating with Israel and planning attacks on Iran. This development comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following recent incidents involving Hezbollah and Israel. The operatives were detained across six Iranian provinces.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced on Sunday the arrest of 12 individuals accused of being operatives collaborating with Israel and plotting acts against Iran's security.
The statement highlighted that as Israel and its Western allies, notably the United States, have failed in their objectives against Gaza and Lebanon, they now aim to destabilize Iran through planned security breaches.
The guards noted that the operatives were apprehended in six different Iranian provinces. This comes after a series of explosions targeting Hezbollah members and the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, incidents blamed on Israel by Iranian authorities. Israel has not claimed responsibility.
