Rescue workers in Beirut searched for missing people after an Israeli airstrike targeting Hezbollah commanders killed at least 37 individuals. The strike leveled a residential building and exacerbated ongoing hostilities. Israel continues to retaliate against Hezbollah's rocket attacks, escalating tensions which have resulted in significant casualties and political repercussions.
In Beirut, rescue workers searched on Saturday for people still missing in the rubble after an Israeli airstrike targeting Hezbollah commanders killed at least 37 people in a suburb of the Lebanese capital. Among the dead were 16 members of Hezbollah, including senior leaders Ibrahim Aqil and Ahmed Wahbi.
Israel's military reported that the strike dismantled most of Hezbollah's military command, targeting an underground gathering of their elite Radwan forces. Additionally, the attack destroyed a multi-story residential building and damaged a nearby nursery, resulting in casualties including women and children.
The conflict intensified with cross-border strikes, with Israel conducting the heaviest bombardment in 11 months and Hezbollah launching rocket attacks on Israeli military targets. The ongoing violence has led to a sharp rise in death tolls and injuries, prompting international concern and warnings of further escalation.
