The Delhi BJP has launched a scathing attack on the AAP government in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), arguing that the party reneged on its pledge to clear major landfill sites by January 2024. The BJP highlighted that the AAP admitted in a Supreme Court affidavit that the job would only be done by 2028, raising suspicions over its commitment.

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva pointed out that the AAP's current term ends in 2027, questioning the practicality and sincerity of the 2028 deadline. He accused AAP of using the landfill issue as an electoral strategy but falling short in execution after 22 months in office.

The AAP refuted the allegations, attributing the landfill crisis to the previous BJP administration's mismanagement and stating it had already reduced the landfill size by half within 1.5 years. Raja Iqbal from the BJP also criticized AAP's performance in areas like sanitation, education, and healthcare, dubbing the new timeline as a ploy to deceive Delhiites.
