A 29-year-old woman's dismembered body was found in a house in Malleswaram, police sources said Saturday.

According to police, the victim, Mahalakshmi, had been cut into over 30 pieces and her remains were stuffed in a refrigerator.

Senior police officers promptly arrived at the scene and blocked off the road leading to the single bedroom house where the body was discovered. Police believe the murder occurred about a fortnight ago and have initiated an investigation.

"We have identified the deceased but we are not disclosing it right now," a police officer stated.
