At least 1,200 people were evacuated from the Tikhoretsky District in Russia's southwestern Krasnodar region, according to local governor Veniamin Kondratyev.

Russia's defence ministry reported that 18 drones were downed over the Krasnodar region overnight, but Reuters could not immediately verify the battlefield reports.

Kondratyev confirmed that most of the evacuees are staying with friends and relatives and that there were no casualties.
