Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal received a significant relief as the Supreme Court granted him bail in the excise policy 'scam' corruption case lodged by the CBI. Despite the relaxation of some bail conditions, Kejriwal remains barred from visiting the secretariat or signing official files.

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan mandated that he must appear before the trial court on every hearing date unless exempted. The court decided to remove conditions preventing Kejriwal from accessing the Delhi Secretariat and signing documents, but noted that changes made by a larger bench previously still stand.

Kejriwal must seek modifications from the chief justice of India to alter these restrictions. Additional conditions imposed include a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh with two sureties. Kejriwal is prohibited from making public comments on the CBI case, although he can present his arguments in court.
