Punjab Police have apprehended Rohan Masih, who is allegedly behind the recent Chandigarh grenade blast. The incident, masterminded by Pakistan-based terrorist Harwinder Singh Rinda and US-based gangster Harpreet Singh, has ties to Pakistan's ISI intelligence agency.
The low-intensity explosion occurred at an upscale neighborhood in Sector 10, where the house owner claimed two men in an auto-rickshaw launched the hand grenade. DGP Gaurav Yadav confirmed that the apprehended individual, Rohan Masih from Amritsar, had the grenade provided by Happy Passia and other weapons when apprehended.
Further raids are underway to nab the second accused, with ongoing investigations jointly led by local police and central agencies. The plan involved logistics and finances arranged by Happy Passia, who instructed Rohan to carry out the attack for promised financial rewards. This act follows a similar foiled attempt at the same location last year by the same terror group.
