Police Constable Attacked in Shivaji Nagar: Search for Assailants Underway

A 43-year-old police constable named Afzal Yusuf Pinjari was assaulted by three men in Shivaji Nagar, Bainganwadi, on Wednesday evening. The constable, who was on patrol, approached a suspicious man who, along with two others, attacked him. A search for the attackers is ongoing, according to police.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Bainganwadi locality when Constable Pinjari, attached to the Shivaji Nagar police station, noticed a suspicious man while on patrol and asked him to stop. The man began abusing him, attracting a mob. Two other men joined in the abuse and one allegedly incited others to retrieve a sword and kill the constable, according to the complaint. The three men then attacked him.

As the mob grew, the constable released the suspect. A police investigation is currently in progress.
