A writ petition has been filed before the Allahabad High Court challenging the returning officer's decision to reject Vijay Anand's nomination papers for the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency.
Vijay Anand, a candidate from the Janhit Kisan Party hailing from Seoni District in Madhya Pradesh, claims that the rejection was based on a clerical error where an affidavit column was left blank.
The petition asserts that all necessary documents were submitted according to the Election Commission's rules and alleges that the returning officer's decision was illegal. The court is expected to review the case within the next few days.
