Shahi Masjid Idgah Trust Moves Supreme Court Over Dismissal of Objections by Allahabad High Court
The Committee of Management Trust Shahi Masjid Idgah has petitioned the Supreme Court to challenge an Allahabad High Court decision that dismissed the mosque committee's objections against lawsuits by Hindu devotees. The committee seeks a stay on the High Court's order, arguing that the judgment combined distinct pleadings into a single suit.

The Committee of Management Trust Shahi Masjid Idgah has appealed to the Supreme Court, challenging an Allahabad High Court ruling that rejected its objections to lawsuits initiated by Hindu devotees. These lawsuits assert competing claims over the Shahi Masjid Idgah, said to be the birthplace of Lord Shri Krishna.
Advocates Mehmood Pracha and RHA Sikander, representing the committee, have requested interim relief, including a stay on the High Court's August 1 order. The High Court dismissed applications the mosque committee filed under Order VII Rule 11 of the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC), seeking the rejection of plaints in 15 different suits.
The mosque committee's plea contends that the High Court's judgment was fundamentally flawed. By selectively combining pleadings from various suits into a single composite suit, the High Court overlooked whether specific plaints were barred by law. This case adds another layer to the ongoing legal disputes over the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Masjid site.
