A tragic incident in south Delhi's Sanjay Colony has disrupted the dreams of a young boy named Ashan, who aspired to become a doctor. The 12-year-old was electrocuted after coming into contact with a live wire from an electricity pole near his house. Despite attempts to rescue him, he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The boy's father, Premchand, a migrant from Pakistan who earns his livelihood by trading scrap parts, has accused the local electricity department of negligence. He referenced an earlier complaint filed in August about exposed wires, which he believes went unattended, leading to his son's death. Neighbors corroborated Premchand's claims, mentioning a lack of action from the authorities.

According to Sikander, a resident of Sanjay Colony, he had filed a complaint on August 19 alerting the department about the exposed wires and the risk of electrocution. He emphasized that if timely action had been taken, Ashan's life could have been saved. As it stands, a legal case under Section 106 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered, and a police investigation is ongoing.
