Patna High Court Commutes Death Sentence in 2013 Serial Blasts Case
The Patna High Court commuted the death sentences of four convicts in the 2013 Patna serial blasts to 30 years of imprisonment. The court also upheld life sentences for two other convicts. The blasts, targeting an election rally by Narendra Modi, resulted in six fatalities and numerous injuries.

The Patna High Court has reduced the capital punishment given to four individuals for the 2013 serial blasts to 30 years of imprisonment.
A division bench, led by Justice Ashutosh Kumar, confirmed life imprisonment for two other convicts as per the special NIA court's ruling.
The blasts, which occurred at Gandhi Maidan during a rally by Narendra Modi, who was then Gujarat's Chief Minister and the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, caused six deaths and multiple injuries.
NIA special public prosecutor Manoj Kumar Singh informed PTI that the death sentences for Haider Ali, Noman Ansari, Mohd Mujibullah Ansari, and Imtiyaz Alam were commuted to 30 years of imprisonment. Life imprisonment for convicts Umar Siddiqui and Azharuddin Qureishi was upheld.
