Death Sentence for Man Who Committed Horrific Family Tragedy

A man has been sentenced to death for murdering his three children and attempting to kill his wife in Padmanoor village. The incident occurred in June 2022, and evidence presented in court confirmed his guilt. The harsh sentence was delivered by the Third Additional District and Sessions Court.

A Third Additional District and Sessions Court in Padmanoor village has sentenced Hitesh Shettigar to death for the gruesome murder of his three children and the attempted murder of his wife. Judge Sandhya delivered the verdict on December 31.

The tragic incident occurred on June 23, 2022, when Shettigar pushed his children into a well, leading to their deaths, and attempted to do the same to his wife, Lakshmi. Police investigations revealed his unemployment and frequent marital discord fueled his actions.

Despite the eldest daughter's attempt to escape by clinging to a pipe, Shettigar's determination to eliminate his family led him to cut it with a knife. Prosecutor Mohan Kumar's compelling arguments ensured a conviction, reflecting the magnitude of the crime.
