An FIR has been registered at Budgam police station against a Wing Commander following a complaint by a woman flying officer accusing him of rape, officials said here on Tuesday.

The IAF has confirmed its cooperation with the police investigation.

Both officers are currently stationed in Srinagar. The complaint was filed under Section 376(2) of the IPC on Sunday.

'We are aware of the case,' a senior IAF official stated. 'The Air Force Station in Srinagar was approached by the local Budgam police station on the subject. We are fully cooperating towards this case.'

The 26-year-old woman officer claimed continuous harassment, sexual assault, and mental torture by authorities at the Srinagar Air Force Station. She recounted that the incident began at a New Year party when the Wing Commander led her to his room under the pretense of giving her a gift, then molested her.

Despite multiple attempts to report the incident, the woman claims the investigation was mishandled and biased, with authorities allegedly aiding the offender and not conducting a proper medical examination.

The Internal Committee's probe concluded inconclusively, citing a lack of eyewitnesses. The woman also reported continuous mental harassment and any individuals she communicated with faced harassment.

She has urged the police to initiate legal action to ensure justice is served and her rights are protected.
