Proactive Measures Ordered by Kashmir IGP Ahead of Elections

Kashmir Inspector General of Police V K Birdi has issued directives for security forces to adopt proactive measures and maintain a vigilant watch on potential anti-national activities in the lead-up to the first phase of assembly elections on September 18.
Addressing a security and election review meeting at the Range Police Headquarters in Anantnag, Birdi, along with senior officers from the police, Army, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP, evaluated the security arrangements for the elections. The meeting focused on the security of polling booths and strongrooms.
Birdi also assessed arrangements at various CAPF camping locations in Anantnag, ensuring readiness for the upcoming polls. The three-phase election will conclude with vote counting on October 8.
